ABOUT BTUSA
Beach Tennis USA is the only Beach Tennis organization sanctioned by the ITF in the United States. As the leading evangelist of the sport in the U.S, BTUSA has sponsored or cosponsored 50 professional and amateur events featuring its estimated 10,000+ active players.  BTUSA has also established 8 officially sanctioned leagues nationally in Long Beach, NY; Buffalo, NY; Miami, FL; Louisville, KY; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Winston-Salem, NC and Chicago, IL.

MANAGMENT TEAM

 Marc Altheim, Founder & CEO
Marc Altheim is the chief operating officer and co-founder of Atlantic Development Group (ADG), a leading residential real estate firm managing a vast spectrum of projects ranging from affordable to luxury buildings.

Prior to ADG, Marc served for 3 years as the chief executive officer of the Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged of New York (HELP), following five years as vice president at the organization. While at HELP, Marc oversaw the development of 10 new construction projects for the homeless totaling $150 million, many of which involved complex bond and regulatory structures.

Marc received a bachelor's degree from University of Massachusetts Amherst and has a J.D from Yeshiva University's Cardozo School of Law.

Jim Lorenzo, President
Jim has over 35 years of experience in music, sports and special events. He began his career as a disc jockey under the name, Jimmy Soul. In 1996, Jim started Imagine It Events, a special events and marketing company focused on sports and entertainment. Imagine It's client list included: Phillip Morris, Kraft Food, Marlboro, Team Penske, Roger Penske Racing, Goldman Sachs, Coca Cola, Sony Music and MBNA. With Imagine It events Jim has been responsible for activations that have had guests numbering from 100 to 500,000 including the 1984 Ranger Stanley Cup Tour up New York City's Canyon of Heroes.

Jim has been involved with the development of Beach Tennis since the company's inception and has been instrumental in creating the BTUSA party atmosphere - DJs, MCs, Tennis Girls and a Beach Festival. During his tenure with BTUSA, Jim has organized and produced 50+ BTUSA events in over 20 different cities. He also oversaw the production of 20 TV broadcasts including 6 "National Championship" events.  Jim is known around the word as one of the leading promoters of the sport of Beach Tennis, both nationally and internationally. He has established relationships with the ITF, USPTR, USPTA, USTA, International Beach Tennis Players Association, and the AAU Junior Olympics.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

Anthony K. Bonomo [CEO - Administrators for the Professions, Inc.]
Anthony is the Chief Executive Officer of Administrators for Professionals Inc., the insurance company management organization that operates, among others, Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers, the medical professional liability insurer for 10,000 New York doctors and 100 medical institutions.

Anthony has served as a Trustee of Hofstra University and is a former Commissioner of the New York State Parks Bureau (L.I. Regions). Anthony founded the GAELS Foundation, which is dedicated to the development of youth through sports.

Bob Considine [Founder & Owner - PaddlePro.com]
Bob is the owner and founder of PaddlePro.com. Paddle Pro was founded in 2005 and is the nation's largest retailer for all paddle sports. Paddle Pro sells over 10,000 paddles a year. Bob is also the Commissioner of  WPTL, a Paddle Tennis league with over 700 players.

David Sickmen [Founder & Publisher - United Sports Publications, Ltd.]
David Sickmen is the founder of United Sports Publications Ltd., publisher of award winning regional sports magazines including Long Island Tennis Magazine, which has 45,000 readers. David is a fixture in the world of professional and amateur Tennis with a rolodex that includes John and Patrick McEnroe as well as Andre Agassi. David is an avid professional Beach Tennis players who plays on the BTUSA/ITF pro tour, both in the United States and internationally. He is currently ranked number 4 in the United Staes and number 54 in the world.

Stephen Sayoc [Pro Tennis Instructor - South Towns ans the Village Clubs Tennis Clubs]
Stephen is a USPTA and PTR certified Tennis professional with over 23 years of teaching experience. As Director of Tennis, South Towns and the Village Clubs Tennis Clubs, Stephen has designed and delivered club programs that have generated more than $1 million in revenue a year. Stephen has also been recognized by the Tennis Industry Association and the USTA as leading the charge in the growth of the sport by adding innovative and well rounded programs for new and current players of all ages and abilities.

Stephen competes on the BTUSA/ITF pro circuit and is regarded as one of Beach Tennis' finest players, having won four tour events. he presented Beach Tennis to over 100 teaching pros at the 2009 PTR World Tennis Symposium and coached teams at the Junior Olympics.

Whitney Kraft [Director of Tennis - Billie Jean King National Tennis Center]
Whitney Kraft is the Director of Tennis at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Prior to joining the USTA, Kraft served as Director of Tennis for the City of Ft. Lauderdale, where he oversaw the daily programming and operations of more than 45 courts at 9 different facilities. For the past 8 years, Kraft has served as Tournament Director for both the USTA Boys 14 Clay Court Nationals and USTA Open National Clay Court Championships.
